Xmas Mat Workout

Dec 05, 2022

This is my Christmas gift to you!

Join me for a pre-Xmas Mat workout!

It's my xmas gift to you to help you prepare for a home based pilate practice whilst the studio is closed for Christmas holidays.

Saturday 8am 10th Dec - 1hr 30mins ... don't worry you won't have to workout the entire time!

RSVP please.

Be confident with your MatWork so you can continue your Pilates Practice at home when the studio is closed for 3 weeks.

I'll go over the Mat sequence and show you how to modify for a home workout & how to have fun with it if your MatWork is already well established.

Inverloch Authentic Pilates is open for you Jan 10 to Dec 21

May I offer my personal experience of what Contrology (Authentic Pilates) give me last year. Reflecting on the year that was 2020 and how I managed the restrictions and limitations brought upon us all, essentially to keep us healthy and strong in a pandemic. Simply put, I increased my Pilates practice. I became more centred, stronger, more open in my body and mind, whist observing so many people who were contracting under the pressure, the changes, the fear of lost security. My Pilates was a handrail that kept me steady, a mindful, focused practice that drew me deeper into myself whilst remaining ever present and in relationship to the environment I was living in. I watched myself deepen into this practice and allowed it to change my body and my mind to a stronger and more centred place. Doing the method 5 times per week showed me how this practice of Pilates is meant to reconnect you in a powerful strong body, with a clear sharp mind, developing an ease and grace that allows joy to flow.

To understand the importance of the right equipment for Classical Pilates, you first need to know that Joseph referred to his equipment as Apparatus and not machines. The point being that you are to work the apparatus, where as machines are designed to do the work for you. You need to develop a relationship with the apparatus, by this I mean connect with it physically, not just hold it or stand on it, but rather for example, ground into it, reach into it, draw away from it. The apparatus supports the body whilst giving us feedback to deepen into our core.

There are 2 good reasons to become an independent client. First reason, because that's what Joseph Pilates expected of you when you learnt his method of Pilates called "Contrology". Second reason, research proves that when you take responsibility for your workouts and engage with its content and method, you engage yourself more deeply and knowingly and therefore will transfer these gains from your workouts into the rest of your life.
